What it’s like to work with me
How I partner with clients
Discovery Call
We’ll start with a quick call to talk through your goals, your brand, and the story you want to tell. This is where we align on vision, timeline, and what success looks like.
Project Planning
After the call, I’ll build a tailored proposal — covering scope, creative direction, and usage needs. Once approved, we lock in dates, finalize logistics, and prep for the shoot.
Shoot Day
Whether it’s on location or in the studio, I’ll guide the session with a clear plan — but also leave room for real moments and creativity. You’ll get the mix of intentional and authentic imagery we discussed.
Delivery & Wrap-Up
Your edited files are delivered via a private online gallery, formatted for easy use across platforms. Need anything resized or adjusted? I’ve got you. I’ll also follow up to make sure the final images hit the mark.

Headshots photographed in real working environments. Outdoors, on-site, or in the field, these are designed for people working in conservation, outdoor, and environmental spaces.
These are framed from the chest up and designed for proposals, team rosters, LinkedIn, and similar professional contexts.
These are still headshots, just made in places that matter.

Editorial Portraits
Slower, more considered photographs made in relation to place.
These sessions focus less on a single “profile image” and more on presence, how a person occupies their environment, the details around them, and the context that shapes their work.
They’re often used for features, long-form storytelling, organizational narratives, or projects where the portrait is part of something larger.
Editorial portraits are scoped based on time, location, and intent.
Brand Stories
Products photographed the way people actually use them, in context, in the real world, in relationship to place.
The work is often used for campaigns, launches, and brand storytelling.
Studio photography is available when it supports the larger story.
Starting at $800 for Half Day.
Starting at $1,200 for Full Day.
Studio add-on available.

Events
Events photographed with an editorial approach, focused on people, interaction, and atmosphere rather than staged moments.
The emphasis is on documenting what it felt like to be there, the in-between moments, the work happening around the edges, and the relationships that form in shared space.
Starting at $800 for Half Day.
Starting at $1,200 for Full Day.

What they’re saying…
Kara Lapso
Founder - Executive Director | Open Trail Collective
“Josh is incredible to work with on projects big and small. I have been fortunate to use his skills at two of our events and both times he produced high quality and detail oriented photography. As an adventure lover himself, he knows how to get the right angles and perspectives to showcase a wide array of activities. It's an absolute joy and privilege to work with him!”
Troy Mairs
Owner - Kairos Film Co.
“At the intersection of meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and steadfast passion, you’ll find Josh’s creative body of work. I’ve been fortunate to have Josh in our studio on various projects over the years, and I’ve always got an eye out for how I can get him involved on future ones. He is a surefire bet.”
Stephanie Donovan
Owner - In the Word Biz.
“Josh is a talented photographer.
Josh takes the time, asking the right questions on each project we’ve worked on together, to be sure he would capture stunning photos to illustrate the stories we were planning out for the company's bi-monthly magazine.
Josh approaches his work thoughtfully, and his beautiful photos are a testament to the level of care he puts into each photo shoot and editing session.
On one photo shoot in particular, we stood out in the freezing, bitter cold with wind temperatures far too cold for us to stay out for as long as we did, but Josh and the group stuck it out until we got the perfect shot for the front cover of the magazine.
Josh is dedicated to getting the job done, whatever the circumstances. I recommend working with Josh, for sure.”
Tracey Holman
Director of Events - Skydive Chicago
“Josh was hired for a previously non-existent position at Skydive Chicago as the Marketing and Media Manager for one of the biggest skydiving centers in the country. He built the external marketing program from scratch and propelled the internal and external company media to a level of quality rarely seen in the skydiving industry. Along with creating fantastic photography, Josh also excels at pooling marketing data to demonstrate how the initiatives he established have had a positive impact on the customer experience and company returns. Josh inspires creativity and is always open to conversations discussing new ideas, whether they be within his specialty or not, and clearly cared about not only Skydive Chicago's success, but also everyone within it.”
